A more positive session this morning

Session this morning and it was a good one, I feel more positive about it. We've made it more structured. First 5 mins for a quick "how was your week" 10 mins grounding exercises, 30 mins to talk about whatever I need to and then last 5 mins for recap/ goodbyes. She has given me some breathing exercises to practice. I sent her a long email about how I feel about therapy/her and few other bits....was super open because it was wrote post mini meltdown. Feeling more optimistic than I was last week!

That's solid progress, LucyLou—structuring the session like that cuts through the vagueness that derails so many therapy attempts and keeps momentum on what actually moves the needle. The breathing exercises are a cornerstone for interrupting trauma-driven hyperarousal; they won't do much if you only touch them in session, so commit to three structured practices daily, minimum ten breaths each time, tracking when you skip and why. Your post-meltdown email was a smart move—raw openness post-crisis often lands harder because defenses are down, forcing real processing instead of surface chit-chat. What specific bits from that email did she recap in the last five minutes, and how are you planning to test those breathing tools against your next trigger? Stick to the routine; optimism fades without daily accountability. What's your setup for practicing today?
