I don't want any movie the character just have PTSD and don't have any scene showing his symptoms and how he dealing with it. I want any movie which the character have PTSD and showing how he dealing with it and the problems he facing because of PTSD. Anyone remember any Hollywood movie about PTSD story?

The Fisher King with Robin Williams and Jeff Bridges.

It's never called PTSD in the movie, but it becomes obvious early on that both guys have PTSD from different sides of the same incident....(did I just give it away??:)

It's a good movie, and probably not so triggering as most.

The Horse Whisperer, about a girl and horse who had an accident leaving both with injuries, there's some interesting trauma resolution. It doesn't say "ptsd" specifically, but it looks that way, for both the horse, the girl and the girl's family.

Robert Redford is in this one, another movie by him, with him in it is, An Unfinished Life, and that's about a young widow (played by Jennifer Lopez); she lost her husband in a car accident (she was driving), get's into an abusive relationship, has no-where to run, winds up at the father of her late-husband's farm. There was additional family trauma, not only that the father blamed the daughter in law for the accident which took his son, and also that he didn't know he had a grandaughter. The transformations in the relationships are interesting, healing occurs unexpectedly. The father/grandfather is played by Robert Redford and seems like a crusty old bugger, hard-working, the transformations to heart, healing and forgiveness. It's trauma, but not necessarily full PTSD, but tensions.

I love the Secret Life of Bees, the trauma there is of the daughter feeling reponsible for the death of her mother, the father also treats her harshly, it's a wonderful coming of age movie, and finding her own niche. Dakota Fanning stars in it and I think she's just awesome. Another Dakota Fanning movie is called Houndog, it can be really triggering because the girl is raped, it's heart-breaking, and resolutions happen around her connecting to the music of Elvis and the blues. Both are about trauma, but not necessarily fully PTSD though, some slight nuances of it maybe?

White Oleander is about a girl who's mother murders her own boyfriend and the girl is then passed through the foster care system, it's interesting how she reconciles, integrates. Michelle Pfifer, Renee Zelwiger, Robin Penn. Her bio mother is sort of a narcisstic-artist type, so the daughter grapples with that control to assert her own identity. Flashbacks are shown.

I don't think Hollywood easily invents these-- these are all based on novels.

What about the movie with adam sandler, reign over me?
I haven't seen it, but it sounds like PTSD or something close to it.

Oh,Nicolette already said that one. but hound dog sounds freaky.

What about the novel and movie Speak? I haven't read all the posts so maybe someone already said that one.

First Blood...extreme and everything.Flashbacks, anxiety, but the ending really shows ptsd, when hes talking to his commarad. love the moive anyway, its action without being to bloody. and Sylvester Stallone is great.

50 First dates. This is not a PTSD movie but a good example of how flashbacks / memories often roll out.
