Apologies if this is not the best form to post this, please move if so.

I just read this article and it's bringing up some trigger stuff for me. I actually don't know how to say much more about it here for reasons, but found it interesting. I wonder if many people have experienced trauma as a result of parents or partners with narcissistic PD?

Yes - I had a narcissistic stepfather growing up and my mother is to an extent; never seems to help me and is suddenly desiring to be a parent when I am in my early twenties. A bit late for that. Alas, I did not experience trauma from said narcissism, although it rather became a mild stressor and one of those deal breaker qualities for me.

Outside -- I don't want to tell anyone whether they should or shouldn't feel it's too late to have a better relationship with their parents, but in your twenties isn't too late. I wish I could have resolved more back when my father was alive and my mother had her mental faculties.

Very true. We are actively working on our relationship, but it is mostly her lack of respect for boundaries. She is still trying to meddle in my decisions, showing up to my house randomly, etc. For the most part it is helping though to read and have small talk with her.
