Relationship Awful, Sad Birthday :-(

Sorry all I'm a sad old mess tonight. I finally spoke to him last night after 3 weeks no phone contact - he has no answers, he's sorry, he can't cope, he can't see a way forward, he can't be friends as it reminds him of what he's 'ruined', he can't say he doesn't have feelings for me, I'm putting more pressure on by caring, it's making him ill, he sounded like hell, he can't sleep...I get all that and I don't want to make things worse. Today is my birthday, he knows this, it hurts so much that he couldn't even wish me a happy birthday but can make plans to see a mate in the future on Facebook.

I'm sorry. I will wish you a happy birthday, if it's any consolation. And send you this photo of my cat sniffing tulips for International Women's Day! Just try to realize that he is not in the right place for a relationship right now, and even if he did come back right now, things wouldn't work out cause he hasn't dealt with what he needs to deal with yet ... Give it time and in the meantime focus on you and enjoying your birthday

I know it hurts but this is not the same as actually seeing a mate. Promising to do stuff in the future via social media is not coming out of isolation. Its pretending to acquaintances that you're ok when you're not.

Wishing you happy birthday would open the possibility of real interaction and real feelings so he's not going to go there.
