@Candleflames,
I think part of the problem lies in the fact that SOME people with depression, anxiety, etc can cope without medication. It then becomes "proof" that nobody needs medication. The same can be said for diabetes as some can manage it by eating well and losing weight, but not everyone can. It's like saying those who have a paper cut don't need medical attention so even though you have a deep knife wound, you don't need stitches. Just put a band-aid on it and you'll be fine! Geez, the concept of degrees is completely beyond some...

The supplement thing is bothering me, too. Amongst other things. Well, she gets me on certain levels that other therapists haven't. But, there are a few things that really irk me. I don't know what to do.

What she is doing is clearly not professional. Has she learned how to reel you in by saying the right things and then hawking the supplements?

While we all have weak moments, you have never struck me as being a weak person. I read your posts and find you to be a remarkably well grounded person. Not because of the therapist, but because of who you really are. She may have offered you something, but it is clearly time to move on. Trust your gut. :)

I don't know anymore. These meds are giving me muscular side effects. I'm afraid I'll have to stop taking them.

Thanks nursenurse. Today was a really good day. The muscular soreness seems to set in soon after I take the meds, but the next day I'm fine. I'm going to stay on a low dose until I'm adjusted. Well, and the low dose also takes care of my symptoms, so unless that changes, I won't need to increase the dose. I just hope the adjustment goes smoothly. Thanks again for your concern!

Sorry to hear that you had a tough day the other day, @Solara, that's a total bummer, I know. (And can be scary when meds start making you feel better and you're suddenly unsure whether you'll have to stop taking them.) But, I just want to reiterate how much strength it takes to come to the decision that meds may be what you need to be the best you you can be. It means that you are listening to *you* and what *you* need, which is a great step forward.
