Though it was windy 'ashore' this morning it blew the usual hurricane here. The way the houses are situated, there is a wind tunnel at the bottom of our front stairs and I literally had to be careful just trying to stay on my feet getting to the car door this morning. Then pulling it open, the force of the wind is so severe I was afraid the handle would break in my hand and move quickly to get my hand inside the actual door. We've been here several years and sadly a month ago on a worse night my wife made the mistake of pulling the car up the wrong way in front of the house. $1500 damage, $1000 deductible. She couldn't have held the door if she tried. Nope, not gonna miss the waterfront at all. It's still blowing, and often does for days on end, followed by a wind switch and a fresh gale.
