Current Weather

One huge white cloud.

We have that 300+ days a year. <grrrr> When my brother lived in Leeds (and occasionally when he was up in Scotland) we’d often have a weekly “Whose weather sucked hardest?” competition. Loser put enough for a round at the pub in the PayPal account. We largely broke even. But it often got down to a blinding fog vs gritty drizzle? Filthy vs mucky? How many layers through are you soaked? Which is worse again? Yes. Okay. Whose the most pissed off about this? LOL. It was a fun bet. Damn weather.

It is supposed to be cloudy today and the rest of this week with two days of rain predicted which I hope that we get, since we are having a drought. Seventy one degrees today which if comfortable and appreciated and surprise the sun is making an appearance here and there. I cannot get enough vitamin D in me yet.

We've made it into the 20s, so far today. Supposed to almost reach 30. By tomorrow, I may get to lessen my long john layers, as it's supposed to reach almost 40. Current thread count to stay warm equals at least one whole load of laundry.

I have two layers of long johns top and bottom, two pairs of wool socks, jeans, and a sweatshirt while indoors (I keep the heat back as much as possible, most days, to save $)....insulated coveralls, toboggan, scarf, and gloves come when/if it's time to venture out when it's below freezing.

Luckily, I can find no good reason to have to go anywhere...but I feel I need to stay ready just in case I need to. Dammit. lol Once it gets above freezing again, I can eliminate a layer of long johns, one pair of socks, and the coveralls. I feel like the little kid on that xmas movie who got all wrapped up then fell down and couldn't get back up. Hahahaha!

The weather here has been crazy the couple of weeks. Making my old man joints ache, head pound, and given me chronic nosebleeds for the first time in two decades.

Around x-mas day; not too cold just snowed alot. 8" on x-mas eve, around -10°C (14°F)
New Year's Eve: f*cking cold... -30°C (-22°F) It should be illegal for a city to get that cold.
First week of January: -6°C (21°F)
Sunday: +8°C (42°F)
Today: -21°C (-5°F)

If that wasn't bad enough. The hard packed snow on every residential road didn't melt completely before it froze again.
We now have the world's largest skating rink. It's terrifying to walk around on.

Brr...

Still 60 degrees F with intermittent mists and wind gusts with another warm and potentially wet day ahead tomorrow. Bring on some substantial rain....please...we need it badly. Will be back in the 20s next week.
