Current Weather

Likely 100mm rain this week. Unbelievable Spring after a cold, dry Winter. Water tanks are FULL - 42,000L - which is super critical as we are not on mains. Managed to have a bunch of dead/dying trees cut down, sawed and split plus lawns mowed, bushes trimmed, weeding managed and finished the burning off for the fire season before it started bucketing down. Now I get to curl up in front of the wood stove with hot chocolate, dogs and cats.

The last four days have been really cold... maximums of 12 - 24 C when really we should be hovering about 35 C but...hey I don't mind too much. :)

The winds have been the deal-breaker or should I say tree's and house's breakers - emergency services stretched responding to all of these call outs...

Back at home now with electric blanket to warm up my bed.... blisss....
Back into long johns, flannelette shirts and cosy warm socks etc.,

Bracing winds picking up dust and tumbling it onto our cities...just another inch of our top-soil??

It is 41 but feels like 33 degrees. The wind is 18 mph and promises to increase as the day goes on. We have already reached our high for the day and temps will hover near the freezing mark later today. Wind chills will be getting pretty cold as winds of up to 40 mph are expected. Brrrrrr!!!

Max temps are struggling to get out of the low 20's (C.) . Beautiful blue skies. Nice cool breaze so not a lot to complain about heat wise yet. This time last year I had heat exhaustion!

Up North the monsoon season has not commenced. We are in an El Nino weather pattern which means possibly below average rainfall for us this Summer.

I guess I am going to wake up one day and Summer is going to smack me in the face with a heat wave :wtf:

Yup! Summer is a few days away and we’ve still got a fire on!
