Which will explain a Veterans resistance to spoon in the standard manner. It is entering protection mode in essence.

Roflmao!!! :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

OMG. That's so true! I have never made that link... Have no idea how true it is for everyone... But yeah. It's either face to chest, or shoulder blades to back sprawled out like a cat.

Can't fall asleep snuggling, though, unless it's wicked cold. (Then I will snuggle up with anything warm, period. No matter how stank or grouchy. LOL.) Unless it cold, though, it's drifting doze at best. No sleep. No matter how safe it feels. Touching? Yes. But not wrapped up in someone. Moooooove over. This space is mine. Watch me be like a cat for real, outta my space! But it feels even safer to be sleeping while someone else is awake. I know I'm getting bad when I can't go to sleep until my partner has woken up. Awesome! My turn in the rack :p Waaaait. :facepalm: Also added to the :banghead: list is the impulse to go wake their ass up after 3-4-6 hours so I can sleep. We are not trading watch. Go. To. Bed. (nooooooooo)

I knew what it meant. But I grew up with a military parent so I know that, 5 by 5, and a bunch of other ones I'm sure.

Though I never made the connection about spooning. That is really interesting Laurie.

It's a military thing. I've been here since 2009 and have never seen it, at 6k posts and even more reading, it really isn't common at all board wide.

So sufferers who aren't former military, no worries.

Thanks for that discussion btw. My guy often sleeps outside the bed but when he sleeps in the bed he likes to roll to the side, so that I am fscing his back and give a sigh before he goes to sleep. I used to hate it but yesterday he did it again and I just thought "that'S sweet. He let's me have his six". *lol*
