November of 2014 I was arrested for simple possession of mj. My charges were Spm, speeding, following too closwly, and DUI (I was not smokIng at the time of the arrest)..
To make a log story short, I got a lawyer and he pulled some strings: I had to agree for a plea deal to get me into the pre trial intervention program (a thing for first offenders, it's a one time only deal). I was accepted, paid all of the legal fees and other fees that went along with it..
I had to do drug/alch counseling (passed all of my drug tests) and was assigned 45 hours of community service, however I only completed 15 because that's when my trauma happened.
I spoke with my PTI counselor day before yesterday, got all my forms signed and she said she was going to finally close my case
Yesterday I went to her office to thank her personally. I understand i am a "special case" and she was glad to know I'm in therapy for my trauma. Also, she thanked me for coming by, as she doesn't hear thank you enough.
I'm just glad to have all of this behind me, it's like a boulder has been lifted off my shoulders. Plus she could have been a bitch and said "I'm sorry, ruinedforever, but you need to finish the community service"
So, my case is officially closed, and I'm going to start saving up for my expungement fees.
It just feels good. Especially for the first time in a while, I'm waking up happy
