How about the violent two on the end? Death is clearly not doing his job here, these guys should have bought it long age considering all that whacking.

Good for you PH on the plan. You are really taking care of things. You can always pretend to be napping during the "inquisition."
Take care.

Sorry about the images....don't even know how I did it. Stay away from smiley sites. Thanks for taking care of that Anthony...kinda freaked me out. Hope you know it was not intentional. Warning accepted and lesson learned!

Oh Pottershand, I don't think the warning was to you. I took a screen shot of your post where the add was showing and reposted it on here so you could see what we were talking about. Totally my fault.

Sorry Anthony

Thanks Unhinged. I am glad I got to see what you all saw. Awe well, guess we know what NOT to do...LOL. I am afraid to use the cute, freaky little guys again. You don't happen to know why it did that do you? How did it happen and can I prevent it?

See I just thought it was someone that was set up to advertise on this site. I'm so used to seeing adds everywhere. But since this, I've been looking and realized there aren't adds here like the old forums had.

So I found out lastnight that instead of dragging me to my brother in-laws, which would be full of people I don't know, the hubby agreed to have Thanksgiving Dinner here! Now I just need to figure out how to cook a turkey.

I bet you'll do fine with the turkey! That sounds much less stressful than going. Have a fantastic day! Be anxious to hear how the turkey turns out!

Unhinged, this reminds me of a story my mother told me about her first Thanksgiving as a married woman. It was just the 2 of them and she had never cooked a turkey before. Her solution was to just go to the store and buy drumsticks and cook those. She did make some stuffing and other stuff too. But she didn't deal with the big bird, just his legs!

I am sure you will do fine with whatever you fix.

Jawn

That is a great idea with the turkey legs! If dinner falls thru I may just have to go get a precooked chicken from the store.

Over the past couple of months I have been doing "Test Runs" with chickens. I had never roasted a chicken before either so I thought it was time to learn. So far they have all been great. I got the turkey in the brine this afternoon and got everything ready to go for tomorrow. I even built a table/counter thing to move our coffee pots to so I have more counter space now! I have been wanting to build that forever. My mom always just said "cooking is chemistry, so being a nerd I should be able to figure it out."

I don't expect it to be that stressful. I really enjoy cooking and the only people that will be here are my husband and best friend. She is amazing and has been such a help to me since I moved here. I think it will be fun cooking together. I just hope the hubby helps me clean house in the morning :)

Hope you all have a great Thanksgiving!

Sounds like you have a good plan Unhinged. You may also want to invest in a meat thermometer to check for 'doneness.' There are also plenty of videos, etc. online that can help.

Good luck! :)
