High point/low point

High point: a full day of work, load of laundry, extra little self care hygiene items that I always put off, and cleaned about half of my room. So relatively accomplished.

Low point: learning that 911 calls could very well be a part of my job and I really don’t know that I can handle it. 911 is tied into some trauma and it’s a tangled web I’ve avoided like hell in T and now it’s coming to slap me in the face.
 
Is there a part of it that's *least* trauma tangled, that you could use as an exposure / therapy starting point, and/or do with success work in, @Annalyn78?

Alternatively, skills learned & applied in other areas that could be transfered over to 911 work while it remains a mental minefield, until that can stabilize or be processed?

Some times passion postpones PTSD and action shuffles anxiety.

Also, I feel similarly around calling 999 (UK) here. But I did a paramedic placement as part of my training where 999 calls are basically their job :laugh: I think it's different doing something as a job and personally, like as a job it's just "this is what I do in this situation", it's hard, but it's not calling-911-yourself hard. Your job is the same. Just type what is said. Speak to people about it if you have to afterwards. But all you need to do in the moment is type it up. Same as everything else.
