I don't want to pay this woman to chit chat.

This is a perfect example of a T. who is too 'comfortable'. She is taking your 'business' for granted. Assuming that you'll keep coming back no matter what she does, and that you'll keep paying her in perpetuity.

Her casual disregard for the value of your time and money and the importance of your need to do real psychological work is 100% unprofessional/unethical/immature. She does not respect you or the Process.

I would encourage you to fire her and find a T. who will actually WORK for the money.

Whoa! This is amazing! You didn’t even need to know any more about the t or the relationship at all to know EXACTLY what’s going on here! That’s incredible. And I’m positive your assumptions, as someone just reading this post and not knowing either party, are dead on. What’s my t thinking right now?

this reminds my of my recent saga, but to make it short, T's are people too, and sometimes can go off the rails as one might coin the phrase. I recently had to terminate with my T and the PDOC associated with her, due to months of distress from her being more concerned about her view than my needs and such. I gave it months and it did not get better. In the end I terminated when she did something that moved things from having mistrust in my T to seeing her as a threat to my interests.

Sometimes working T relationships change and don't work anymore. I would be up front about this with your T, if it does not resolve, give it time, and in time if it still does not resolve, it may be time to look for another T.

@Supervixn Thanks for the pat on the back, I need those sometimes, the only bad thing about this is it left me in limbo with no care, hence when I got turned away by the alternative the next day, I became unsafe as it represented situational uncertainty with no win which I have never been able to cope with. Luckily the alternative took me the next day after I was turned away. I am still in a limbo state, but not as before, just a long wait to see anybody.
