Hi and welcome to the forum
@NPHprogressiveC-PTSD
Its MHO psychiatry is in its infancy compared other medical practices. The terms and diagnoses some of the doctors come up with are their own. That is not bad or good its Words. Words to help define feelings. According to the latest Official Diagnostic Manual ( I forget the acronym) there is just PTSD. We all know PTSD is anything but Just.
They recognize there are different levels of disassociation but again it's MHO "most" therapists denies it (DID) exists at all. My opinions are formed by my experience and lots of reading, drawing my own conclusions from my own experience.
Hydrocephalus is something I've never heard of so I will have to look it up later.
I don't know about fluid in the brain causing flashbacks. It is my understanding a flashback is triggered by an occurance in the current moment of NOW that a person emotionally connects with their past and often acts out not to the present but to the past. This can get messy and unexplainable in many situations such work.
I'm not quite sure what you mean by having multiple flashbacks at the same time.
I have moments I slap my head cursing and apologizing, acting out being both the abused child and the abuser.
Please beware of labels. Our past shapes who we are, how we respond in any given moment.
With awareness of self (selves) and learning Who You ARE, you might find you are not disabled but different.
You didn't mention if you currently have a therapist.
I think at the very least you need someone to advocate for you. Help you understand what all your options are.
I look forward to seeing your future posts
