I know one of my family member had to watch horrific scenes from movies as preparation. That would have weeded me out of the military pretty fast, as I would have been hiding in a corner sobbing and vomiting.

Where as children that grow up in a war torn country don't develop PTSD because that is all anyone there has known...it's not out of the ordinary.

Says who? Just wondering where you got this little nugget from. Thinking about the people who have tried to help kids drafted into armies in Africa, and some missionary friends of ours who run a rape crisis center in a country in Africa where there is constant fighting going on...
