Monkeys driving the distorted cognition bus

@Whyteferret ! Yes, seems we all have that noise in our head telling us we are no good, you can't be serious, you'll never accomplish that.. but I do like the idea of monkey voices.. gives them less power than if I picture them as human.. after all, monkeys just chatter !!!
And yes, sometimes when I challenge them... they do get louder ... that just tells me hard hard they are holding on for me to NOT change that way of thinking... after all, if I accomplish shutting it up, then I don't need it any longer and it dies off... so the voice fighting for their life !!!
I wonder if 'normal's' ever fall off in here and read us... they would think we all need to be locked up !!!
But this is the world we live in, and thank God we have a place to come and talk about how the voices run our lives sometimes..
sending energy for you to push at the 'committee', they only want us to stay sick so they have a job... !!! We just need to fire them all !! If only it were that easy...

No, I don't think I have them either, @EveHarrington - or at least, not as chatter. I have distorted cognitions, but they are very much just in my own voice, and my own thoughts. I've never understood them as separate.

Oh it's my own voice... it's just the way I describe the intrusive thoughts , the distorted cognition.
