Thanks all. I just went over to give her this information, but she was asleep. The dad answered the door, he just few in to town after the last suicide attempt. I gave him a bit of information, but didn't really go into details. I am going to write it all down to give to her if i can't catch her between work and sleep tomorrow.

Just echoing: daughter deserves a second opinion on the diagnosis and treatment plan. That's just too many meds for a kid who was functional but had a major life stressor.

New hospital, come off the drugs, therapy for help managing all the shit she's recently been through, and enough time with a trained child psychologist to figure out what the correct diagnosis is - if any.

The celexa was a bad move. It's not always well tolerated, and teenage brains are tough. The Geodon was a terrible move left over from 15 years ago. That drug is heavy, and from there, it becomes a pile-on, because you need more drugs to counteract the negative side effects of the drugs you were put on to begin with. It's a terrible cycle and every bit of the current literature would say that teen brains need to be handled very cautiously, when it comes to psychoactive medication.

Grr.

Why the hell do they have her on Adderal?
It's sometimes used as a 'focus aid'/stimulant in combination with some medications that have a sedating or soporific effect. With the Geodon and the Lexapro, it's likely she is fuzzy and would need something to diminish some of that effect in the waking hours. Not knowing how often she takes the ativan, it's possible that's part of the problem there as well.

in my opinion, none of this is good psychopharmacology, especially for a teenager with an unconfirmed diagnosis.

I really hope your friend can get to some real resources where they can take the time to get her off of all that safely and get her talking with a talented clinician.

Is there history of mental illness on either side of the family?
