I'd certianly ask them why you can't at least touch base with the admission person to find out if you are accepted or not, on a waiting list or not, and when you will go. I am sure they will tell you that you are accepted and when you will go. I'm sure they won't tell you the day before. But still, I am sure that raises your anxiety.
I can understand not wanting to be overloaded with questions, as I can picture that. But being in the dark of what's going in with admissions suck.
Maybe they don't contact you until you have a bed for sure? To not increase your symptoms?
Anyway, it's all speculation as they don't say anywhere why they will only speak to clinicians. Like most places will explain that somewhere but they don't and if they do I can't find it. I am sure they have good reasons but it doesn't make it suck less. And for those of us that like to be as involved as possible in our medical and mental care, it would horrible to just be in the dark about it all.
Does your therapist update you about the status or if they had heard anything more?
