Political Venting

Journalists ask them what they're protesting and none can give an logical answer. All they have is that they hate Trump.

I protest because I believe in the rule of law and free markets, limited government that does what it can to push forward an agenda but stays inside the guardrails of the constitution it was sworn to protect. Those are the big reasons I could name for anyone that asked me why I was at a protest without reaching into my big bag of reasons I hate trump.

Once that bag is open and I start dumping the contents we are probably done with the questions and answers and off into the realms of deciding which side we were on this morning when we woke up and where we will be when we go to bed tonight so why bother?

But, as long as I have been asked:

In that big bag of reasons I hate trump, right on top of the piles of amazingly uninformed quotes attributed to him, resting upon the lumps of horribly insensitive things he has done, riding along with the felony convictions, his mishandling of the corona virus national health crisis, his absolutely amateurish attempt to stage a coup, the incredible open acceptance of bribery and his unfounded profiteering of the presidency, in there with all of the other reasons I hate him is the biggest one I would reach for first:

We have a long history of trying to get it right here in this great experiment of a nation, working sometimes at odds but together in our effort to make this a more perfect union. That all goes away if you don't have the rules of civil debate in place and he has made it clear that as long as he is in charge any debate or dissent or even the results of a national election can be thrown under a veil of mistrust and doubt.

If you dont play by the rules you wont win, but if you get the ball in your hands and keep it you can end the game and no one wins and that seems to be his plan. Gain an alliance of sycophants, stifle the critics, frustrate anyone that just wants to play the game by the rules and then declare victory and new rules and there you have my opinion of donald trumps agenda for making america great again. Chaos and then the inevitable scramble for leadership positions followed by the paniced dissilusioned masses clutching at any semblance of leadership they are offered. Or, he has no hidden agenda and all of this is just my opinion of what will happen after this mental toddler finally wanders into traffic.

PS
I protest my representatives in washington wringing their hands and watching as he tears down the work that has built a strong judiciary over the 250 years since John Adams, as he mishandles a defense department that has been adjusting and setting new standards for behavior over the 250 years since George Washington, as he terrorizes (yes, he strikes terror in) the free press that has been a tenant of this nation since Ben Franklin and before him Peter Zenger.
I dont know who will step up and stop this if my representatives in washington dont or cant. And so far, just a lot of hand wringing and scrambling for coherant leadership within BOTH parties.
As an independant that leaned republican I protest the death of the republican party. As a Patriotic American i protest the loss of the rule of law and adherance to the constitution and the bill of rights. I protest the lack of debate and the contrived mistrust of our elections. As a grandfather I protest the hollow vacuum he will leave behind and the horrible thought of rebuilding this government without leadership from within EITHER of the two parties currently in place.
Or, if you believe the rhetoric, I am just another sign toting whistle blowing paid representative of Antifa. Yeah, thats me and my friends, and we deserve to be shot or at least gassed. We definitely deserve to be ignored and our beliefs called into question.
Yeah, I know, sarcasm rules.

The lunatics have taken over the asylum. I always thought Hilary Clinton was bat shit crazy aswell. I'd quite like to see kamala Harris get in. I felt like saying to her, if you'd have focused more on doing videos about your politics and what you stood for rather than comedy videos, you might have faired better in the polls. I also really like Michelle Obama.

In my country, England 🇬🇧 in the UK we're seeing alot of serious shit go down. Thankfully Keir Starmer is standing up to Donald Trump but pictures of Peter Mandelson standing around in his underwear in Jeffrey Epsteins Paris flat are all over the news. He's completely finished. Donald Trumps best pal Nigel Farage is waiting in the sidelines to take power... Reform UK. I predict bad stuff will happen.

Today I saw the post that was put on trumps social site, (I think it was that and not X) that depicted the Obamas as apes. Jack White wrote about it. I think it was ridiculous and very offensive. Quite disgusting. Whoever's idea that was and the people involved should be sacked. I just can't tolerate that kind of disgusting shit. I grew up listening and learning from American Black music. It's in my blood and bones.

I'm in the U.S. and watching these "protests" against the removal of illegal violent criminals is disgusting. These people are fighting to keep pedophiles, rapists, drug dealers and murderers in our country. They are so brainwashed. I don't understand it. Journalists ask them what they're protesting and none can give an logical answer. All they have is that they hate Trump.

I know this occurs on both sides, but I feel like stating they are brainwashed is a slippery slope. It allows you to dismiss all they say and do, without attempting to understand their motivations.

As far as the protestors not being able to give a logical answer, I would challenge the accuracy of that statement. I know some of these protestors. They can very well and literately state why they are protesting. And again, the same thing happens on both sides. There's a guy who goes around "interviewing" Trump supporters. He annoys the heck out of me, because it seems clear to me he hand-picks who he interviews and what he shows to cast the supporters in the most negative light possible.

always thought Hilary Clinton was bat shit crazy aswell
yep. I was happy when i thought the passing of the Clintons was a done deal, but willing to toss a losing vote their way when she was the democratic offering to lay on the tracks in front of the trump train in 2016. I think trump calling her a nasty nasty woman during the debates that year was a clear measure of where we were on the civil debates/ unhinged anarchy continuum at the time.
I often wondered why there was never a case raised that he was guilty of sexual harassment in the workplace that night?
Bat shit crazy by the standard's of 2016 and before maybe, 10 years later maybe a fondly remembered civil servant wearing a wreath of patriotism and public service? No, not yet, but in a storm any port is remembered as being better than this.

Do a little research on Hillary. She IS a nasty woman. Start with the Thomas Alfred Taylor case 1975.
I guess part of the problem is theres always dirt to dig up on anyone, particularly politicians who make their living through pushing one specific agenda. I do find it interesting you stated a rape case from 50 years ago though when there are current sexual assault claims against trump. Where he is the perpetrator not just a lawyer trying to move their way up in the world.

I agree. Both terrible people. But id much rather be stuck in a room with hillary. Cos at least she (probably) wont rape me.

Thomas Alfred Taylor case 1975.
she was assigned and didnt want the case, she did her job and got him a plea deal and he did time after pleading guilty to raping a 12 yr. old girl
In my book that makes him a rapist and her a public servant that held her nose and did her job for the public that paid her to do it. There are oh so many reasons that she has lost my trust but being a good lawyer following the rules of a flawed system isnt one.
Not deserving of being called names on a national stage, but, it makes her a member of a pretty large group set apart as being “them” by a member of an “us” that includes some truly nasty people, some women, some murderous women.

I protested during the covid bs. Some of you will gasp and most likely tune out. If possible, hear me out. I protested for some time. I was fighting for my children and my grandchildren. I never ONCE - blocked police, kicked their cars, shouted obscentities to the apparently 'opposing' sides who would hiss at us, spit at us, and tell us that they wanted our entire families to die - and those were the nicer things they did and said. I was part of the trucker protest in Ottawa. The protesters were kneeling and the police were beating the shit out of them, the finance minister was stealing money from their bank accounts, and the prime minister was calling us all nazi's.

Really? Now these protestors. Blocking streeets, attacking people they think are ICE officers, kicking cars and openly defying authority of the federal government.

'Splain please. What gives you protestors the right to do that? What is with the violence?

I think Trump is the right person for the job, right now. Why? Because America is broken. The Democratic party are not going to fix things, they were just in and only helped make the issues worse. So lets be honest here...

Trump is brash, he is not stately or presidential. No doubt about that. But he is a necessity that America needs right now to get dirty in what is, the most corrupt system on earth. The American political arena.
