The virtual walking/hiking club

Didn't go far today, just had an hour and thought it was likely to start raining anytime soon just just walked round and round the block near me.

Walked fast and with music and walked until my legs began to feel a little jelly like. Read up that this has something to do with lactic acid...

Hopefully I will continue to get stronger and will be able to go further before getting the jelly legs.

Feels good to be getting stronger :-)
 
Went to the second waterfall on my list. About half a mile back from the trail head.

This is one of those aims that goes 2 steps forward 1.75 back kind of thing. I've been trying to get fitter for some time and regularly have had bad patches where a good deal (but not all) of my progress is lost.

Anyhow I keep trying. I've booked myself onto a short pilgrimage in May. I'm not religious but it appeals to do this for a few reasons.

It's in a place I want to visit, a beautiful part of the country. The organisers are fine with people being any or no religion and I like the history of a pilgrimage being a profound spiritual awakening - finding yourself kind of thing. Also like that its a shared journey with a small group. And I've started with a very short one so as I can cope with it and hopefully go on to longer hikes or more pilgrimages if I like in the future.

So anyway I've started building up longer walks again. Before I go I want to have completed the distance a few times comfortably.

Finding myself too embarrassd to sat how long the walk is as it is short.. :shy::whistling:
 
I live in a small rural town in the mountains. We have a walking trail, they are still working on it, planting trees, etc. Sometimes I just walk to the grocery or the drug store. I walked there the other day. I have a backpack I am thinking of adding next time I go. I want to see how it is, walking with it on too.
