 So I finally FIND Fullers ESB (I didn’t think it was even sold here, it was one of those <gasp> Grab it!!! Moments)... but the sommelier at the shop promised they always have it, so I come back today & he says??? Yep. You guessed it. Out. They haven’t delivered. Probably won’t until after the holidays. ((Thanksgiving or Christmas??? Which holidays are we talking here? )) I think I need to have a wee little chat with the man about his definition of “always”.

C’est la vie.

Espresso & a (not so virgin) Bloody Mary.
Fries.

Last night we had fried pork chops, fried potatoes with cabbage, onion and a lil bacon, corn and milk. This morning is a big ol' breakfast of bacon, eggs, hash browns homemade biscuits and OJ.

I'd like to try biscuits one day. Maybe I should try n make em.

And what's a broil sandwich? Ta :)

Had a grain salad - made a meal plan again this week as it seemed a good way to organise my eating n shopping.

Roasted carrot n onion in ras el hanout, Cooked the bulgar wheat / quinoamix in vegetable bouillon
Mixed it all together with chopped red grapes, flaked almonds, parsley, lemon juice n olive oil. Really liked it. Reckon I could happily eat this way more often. And its vege, and I've been meaning to eat more vegetarian meals.

So, happy days.
Sparkling water

first meal: banana
second meal: kale and mushroom cooked in ginger and garlic, half a baked sweet potato, spinach and beetroot salad
snacks: watermelon, orange, banana
third meal: same as first meal but with some roasted parsnips
so far, no figs yey!
drinks: 150mls water, will drink a bit more before bed, one cup of juniper berry tea

The trick is to treat them like croissants or pie crust... the ice cold butter (ideally? Freeze the butter and run it through a food processorer shredder, in addition to using ice water) creates super flakey layers, whilst the yeast makes them fluffy :sneaky:

They’re not a lot different from shortcake or Yorkshire pud, though, at the end of the day. Less sweet than (most!) shortcake, less puffy than the pud, kind of an in between sort of thing.

Mostly, though? We use the POP! :bag:  open cans

^^^ Almost impossible to find in the U.K. as of 5 years ago anyway (damn, I can believe it’s been that long since I’ve been back)... unless you live near Costco. They only have them on blue moons, though.

When I’m in the U.K. & want biscuits ‘n gravy, I usually just smother YP with cream gravy
