I never googled them before, and I now understand I’m making them wrong! I didn’t understand why mine were so chewy. It’s because a whoopie pie is supposed to be two small round cakes (original is chocolate) with frosting between not cookies! So the oatmeal in oatmeal whoopie pie should be oatmeal *cake* not cookie! Yay!
