We are going over to my daughters house for Christmas. We are going to do grinders for the food. We have to be over there at nine am. That is so early. We will get to visit with the family. I am very happy about this. Sadly my SIL has to work. He is working nights.

All our Christmas plans have had to be changed, due to a stuffed car.

So now, hubby and I are taking separate taxis Christmas eve morning to visit our own relatives. Christmas day is now stay at home instead of going to see our grandchildren, but hoping we can have a Skype session with them.

Christmas eve night and Boxing day my youngest and her now husband to be are coming round for a meal. Still trying to work out how she conned her way in twice. :roflmao:

Oh what a shame Amethist, thank goodness for Skype!

I'm in much the same position, I'd planned to spend christmas week with my sons & their families in Devon, but my body has decided differently! I've been unwell for a while now & yesterday was diagnosed with heart failure which will mean surgery sometime soon. That together with a chest infection means I've decided to stay home, I'm so exhausted I don't think I could cope with the train journey or my lively grandchildren at the moment. I hadn't thought of Skyping them though, what a good idea!

Luckily we all exchanged presents at my sons last weekend so we've already had a 'mini' christmas!

I was wondering what grinders are. Does that mean you are having sandwiches for Christmas Dinner? Sounds unusual! But it would be fun, and wouldn't Turkey, stuffing and sprout sandwiches be yum! I love sprouts!!

Amethist, I'm sorry you had to change your plans but I'm sure you'll enjoy your Christmas skype session.

Cat, I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. Is that the cause of your breathing problems all this time? At least you have a diagnosis now, and can get the right treatment. Sorry to hear you will be missing the family Christmas, I hope you get a skype session planned.

I'm going to family on Christmas Eve. I was supposed to be working the whole of Christmas and New Year. But since I'm being redeployed and don't really have a job, I don't have to work. So I suppose every cloud and all that. . . . I'm going to do my best to enjoy the festive period and worry about finding a job in the new year.

Hoping everyone has a peaceful and enjoyable Christmas.

My browser shut down right when I completed this post! :banghead: So here I go again.

The 23rd is with my father, my siblings, their families. All around 30 people total(adults and kids). We are having beef sandwiches and simple fixings. This is usually a very stressful day for me but I'm trying not to think of it. I enjoy it once I get there.

The 24th will just be with my husband and boys. I use to celebrate this day with my mom and sister's family.

The 25th, my FIL comes over to watch the boys open their presents. Been doing this since the boys were little. Then we have brunch. Later my husband makes stir fry with the pan I bought him many Christmas's ago. A gift that keeps giving. :)

The 26th is my surgery. That is my present to me. lol
