I looked that up. It looks like a kind of flatbread used in place of noodles.

My grandfather was from Lithuania, as was his wife. They lived on mushrooms he picked from the wild and she cooked them in a sauce. He called the particular mushroom she cooked so good "Boodveekee" (bood like book). One problem with this mushroom was that there was another one that looks just like it that is poisonous. I say all this because maybe your grandfather might know how to choose healthy mushrooms from the wild? Ya never know.... but don't try this unless you can get someone to teach you which ones you can and cannot eat!!!!

No, sorry. True some mushrooms can be confused for others, but it's usually when they're younger/smaller & shapes confuse and colors don't yet show up that well. Checking near the roots & under the hat of the mushroom usually clarifies differences well enough.

My grandfather said there had to be little dark spots (tiny ones) in the stem of one kind and none in the other, but I cannot recall which was which! It has only been about 50 years ago that he told me this, so I think it is normal that I have forgotten!

There's guidebooks to that sort of thing, if people are seriously considering going, with detailed pictures and warnings enough, so no stress, it's not like you're giving people / Sael wrong info or it's unavailable. :tup:

Okay, I have been out of croatia for a week now. I'm right now boarding the plane back. I hope the week of not being home allowed some money to appear. I also have like, 40 euros from the olympiad.

Hi @Saelben just wondering if you have access to a farm or farmers market.
Can you stockpile cans of food, flour, rice & things that last? Just so you have a little to work with if time's get tight again. Stuff that will not perish & don't require a pantry full of thing's to eat.

I'm back in Croatia. Today we picked up bread from grandma and stuff. Should be enough for a few days. Also, a bit better since for a week there wasn't me eating. A lot of yelling lately though

I have heard that some flowers are edible. I don't know which ones, but I bet you could research that online. Also, tubers can be found, again you can research that online. I know that before potatoes were farmed, they grew in the wilds. You can research that and find out what their leaves look like. You should be able to dig up some and eat those too.
