7 police offers shot in Baton Rouge, LA this morning near the police headquarters; 3 killed.

This needs to stop! It's insanity! And depressing!

We need to defend our police officers. Not all are good but most are and all put their lives on the line to help us and protect us! This is not the way to stop police shootings. We dont kill because of a killing.

The NAACP is having a national convention today in Cincinnati. I'm sure they will come out with a statement soon similar to what you have just said. So sad. Praying for those who have lost loved ones from all the turmoil in the world recently.

Was at breakfast with a freind and came home and read this. I do not have a Tv, so am only getting bits and peices.... What I am feeling, besides the sadness, is outrage... Again, this is too close to home.... I read something on FB the other day... Our troops are over seas fighting to protect our freedom, and we are here killing each other...

What is is going to take... until the Black leaders tell them to stop, it won't... we can not set down and come up with a mutual plan because this crap keeps happening.... No answers... just continued violence and death... that is not going to change anything.... nothing.

I wonder what the people who are doing this random killing are going to do if we end up under Martial Law??? They think they have the upper hand right now... but when that happens,,, their civil liberties are taken away also... they can gun down Policemen and Women.... but they can NOT win with the Military..... and then they, along with us who are trying to seek a peaceful resolution, have made sure that no one has freedom..... If this was about anything but hatred, I would be cheering them on... not the killing of officers, but needing to have their voices heard... I don't think a lot of them have any idea why they are doing what they are doing.... just sheep following the person shouting the loudest.... And , no matter what,, our Police Force will suit up every day, and go do their jobs...Stupid asses.. they can not kill them all, and even if they did, then what... have not heard one word about what the end result of this hatred is supposed to accomplish....

The police shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri started this rage against police. Its insanity. This is way generalizing is so dangerous in my opinion. "All cops shoot unarmed African Americans" or any number of incorrect generalized statements.

Also there was a Baton Rouge protest where police didnt handle it right thus anger rose.

It is horrible.

I wonder what the people who are doing this random killing are going to do if we end up under Martial Law???

My opinion, we need to be. We need to take all guns from all people and stop any coming in and start over with the way people obtain firearms.

When I was advising that, my dad went on a tangent because Hillary wants to take all guns away forever and my dad said that bad guys will have them and good people wont have them to defend themselves and i agree. Im not saying full gun control but we have a big problem that needs to be solved in a big way.

I say during martial law, take all firearms away from all and then redo the way people apply for a licence and fix how they get them illegally.

I dont know but we have to do something big. This needs to stop! We are killing the people that protect us, our police.

I think because of the black market guns will always be available, i see no solution that would help the situation. The governer]] in my state passed a new law that will go into effect next year is that all pistols owners have to turn their pistols in. I do not see how this one passed, I agree no assault rifles but so many people hunt game and some people have it for home protection.

Those people who own unregistered guns will not be turning their guns in at all. They fly under the radar.

I know @gizmo, im not for gun control (other than assult rifles and other firearms you dont need outside of a war) but we have to do something big or we have more police shootings and mass shootings.

I dont know if the black market and the dark web where a lot are sold etc can be attacked or what but something has to happen.

My opinion, if it matters.. It's not just the shootings. It's the terrorist, it's war, it's people driving trucks into crowds. The whole f*cking world is going nuts, and I think it's going to get a lot worse before it's gets better.

I have never understood the action "murder" and I never will. I can not wrap my mind around it, I just don't get it. Yeah, I know it's "mental issues". I just don't get how anyone crosses that line.

It's just f*cked up. And it needs to stop.

Just look at Republican National Convention. You can take a gun legally. But a pellet gun, bb gun, or tennis ball no. It's time politicians got their heads screwed on right, and learn some logic.

My thoughts are with the families, and those still critically ill.

I think it's time we start focusing on what good police officers do every day.

My start. When I was teenager my father tried to committee suicide. I called it in. I was 14, and this truck kept stopping for weeks after, and this young adult checking on me when he saw me from road. No idea who he was. Happened when my mom was home once, and I asked who he was. She said he's a Police Officer coming home from work, and a son of county sheriff. Thank you sir!

That's a good human spirit and police officer.

I would have a reason to be angry at police as one of the 10 loyal followers (one of my abusers) was a cop and all cops turned their heads even when I begged to go to jail instead of home and the cop told me to listen to my parents and I still respect all cops, troops, EMTs, Fire Fighters and others that activetly save lives and protect us!

We must learn that sins of one shouldnt be paid by all. Wrong actions by one doesnt reflect on all.
