Zoogal, going back is brave.

Maybe a conversation about pace?

My T and I decided things work best for me when I feel slightly pushed but not pushed into a trauna/ shut down reaction. I ASKED for a more intense pace / push because I trust her.

If you have dropped out before then maybe you do need a slower pace and to feel ’gentler’? But no reason ug cannot be on a topic that you feel helpful

I'm wondering now if she isn't trying to establish trust because, well, I've bailed on her before.[/QUOT...

I have pushed to hurry things along and ended up in a right mess. I am the worst judge of what I need in session. And I like having a sense of control. So I am trusting my T - a little bit more - to pace things. I'm not so concerned about the chit chat. I'm more concerned about the dynamic being a little too unequal. Being scared to broach something might make sense if its deeply personal or traumatic, but the direction of therapy? I hope you and the T will build up enough trust too adress this. Sounds a little off atm.
