Hello, I'm Lance, a 48yo man who is recovering from ptsd and a major depressive disorder.

I've been in therapy for 7 years, have tried a zillion medications and am currently stable and doing far better than in previous years.

I am estranged from the majority of my mostly unwell family and have a beautiful family of my own.

Hope to be of some help here while learning from you.

Lance,
I've suffered from depression for most of my life, beginning when I was a teenager. Better self-care has been a huge win for me!
For me, Music (some activity you enjoy), regular exercise, meditation (if that works for you), a social life, being part of a community, getting enough and good sleep, taking medication (no excuses). For example, going to the gym, and building physical strength is a confidence booster. Plus, exercise will improve your mood. I swim & bike (in the warmer weather).
Best of luck, and glad to hear you're doing well. I tell myself I was born into the wrong family! LOL
