Does anyone go through stages of being highly triggered, irritable, always on guard. After that phase, then become almost mute and numb to everything. Then the circle starts again?

absotively. i call that "always on guard" phase, "hypervigilance." over sensitivity (always triggered) is exhausting. i am never quite sure if the mute numbness is dissociation, depression or burn-out. i often burn myself to a proverbial crisp with the demands of hypervigilance.

I think you just defined PTSD it is a horrible horrible cycle and watch out for the benzos because there’s something called PAWS which makes it 1000 times worse when you’re withdrawing from them you should go through protracted withdrawal for 5 1/half years up to 5 1/2 years after you’ve been on them for so long because of the PTSD and then it makes you wanna kill yourself and that was a major problem for me until I found out otherwise and I had to do my own homework on that one thank God I have a PhD and psychology and also a Jd so afraid because I’m a lawyer so they had to treat me a little bit more dignity but they don’t treat people with dignity. It’s the lack of understanding of benzodiazepine withdrawal for protracted with symptoms could be fatal no matter what and it makes you want to not leave your bed as well as a depression I mean oh my goodness gracious you would think they come up with something a little bit more HUMANE and not be embarrassed by and says you got mental health issues like who does not have a mental health illness and the DSM ones have an illness for everything and disorder for everything like if you took a glass of orange juice half full it’ll be like the half for glass syndrome with markable disorders, such as always doing it more than three times weekly doing it because you want to do it and defy it and have a mental health problem? And I’m not kidding. I’m trying to be funny but I’m not kidding. There is a disorder for everything now this is serious. This is the most serious one between major depressive disorder and PTSD. The suicide rates are 75% higher. That’s what I’ve been told by many doctors so you need to hang on because it’s gonna get better and you need to get into a physician who has compassion there are physicians compassion, even Medicaid actually have a real life insurance. It doesn’t take mental healthcare anymore. It’s disgusting.

I feel like the numbness is a bit of both dissociation and burn-out.
