Aromatherapy That May Help Relieve Some PTSD Symptoms

I have to say thank you again - aromatherapy and ambient noises saved the night! I laid in bed for about 45 minutes unable to sleep. I was going to get up and take a sleeping pill, but then remembered my aromatherapy stuff. I used that and turned on my "creek" noises and eventually fell asleep drug free and slept all night...not an easy thing for me to do.

Ayesha...you could try applying the sandalwood directly to your skin and receiving the benefits that way. It won't work int he diffuser once diluted, as you know.

Another great method for other oils is to add about 8 drops to a spray bottle of just water, as a room freshener. I bought some lemongrass yesterday and it's just so fresh and zingy in my home space...and really good for neautralizing kitty litter odors and making things fresh again.

I have been using the sage oil with distilled water as a room freshener and now have a rose one in the bathroom. It's amazing as not only does it smell great, I'm not allergic to them!

Amethist, you mentioned some oils that would be good a Christmas when we were at York but I seem to have forgoten what they were. Could you please refresh my memory?

Also, where is the best place to get an oil burner/diffuser thingy from?

Hi Amethist,

Jaret.

I am not a professional by any means,

You don't need to be a professional to know things. I for one am very thankful that you are willing to share what you have researched. There are so many things that I have wanted to learn more about (aromatherapy being one of them) and have not had the time to look into.

Thanks for sharing.

Hi Jaret

There are a few oils you can use for stress.

If you want to clear your mind and think clearly then Basil is very good for this. Juniper berry is also good for stress as are , Cyprus, Mandarin, Geranium, Cedarwood, Marjoram and Patchouli.

Physical healing is different again and it depends what kind of physical illnesses you have. different oils do different things and have to be used in a variety of ways.

I may be able to give you some ideas if you can let me know what illnesses you mean.
