Your Pet Did What!?!

The other night when I was feeling overwhelmed and depressed and went to bed early, Buddy, my dog, stayed at my side the whole night. My husband said she wouldn't even go outside one more time before bed.

Then last night when I was crying big time(husband lost one of his jobs), she sat near me and kept reaching out to me with her paw. She looked at me as concerned as a possibly can.

I am blessed with a great dog.

OK, it's official! Doozer thinks he's a cat! He'd rather play with the cat's toys, loves catnip and just now as I was ripping out the sweater I was knitting for him (it was way too small!), he had a blast playing with the yarn!:p

On the other side, the cat thinks she's a dog! She plays tag, fetch and when I ask the dogs if they want a cookie, she runs up and gets in line for one! :p

My little 12 pound dog has eaten everything they tell you not to let your dog eat. A bowl of kisses, brownies, a pack of gum, gel air fresheners. He loves coffee and margaritas, so I have to keep a close eye on him. But he's never gotten sick (knock on wood). He chases huge bucks, horses, and turkeys, and tries to beat up the biggest dog in dog park. He also guarded me when I was in a halo and J was asleep-no one was allowed to wake me with him on guard.

I use to take my great dane, Zoe, to my sister's farm. The horses thought she was one of them and tried to show her rank whenever she was in the corral. Then, the goats that kept escaping their pen escaped one time when we were there. When they saw Zoe, they immediately hightailed it back to their pen. My sister could not stop laughing her butt off. She had never seen her goats move so quickly! She wanted to borrow Zoe! :D:hilarious:

One thing about having great danes, we never had any trouble with squirrels. Now that they know we have smaller dogs they have invaded our birdfeeders. Imagine their surprise when our little dog comes and chases them off the birdfeeders and up a tree! Darn squirrels.

Sometimes I think of my finch, Crest, as a "little country boy". In his cage I keep a little dish of Timothy hay for him to entertain himself with. He'll take a long piece from the dish and hop along his perch holding one end of it in his beak! It's so cute! Of course since I love him it's even cuter! :playful: (That is of course before he decides whether it's a piece worthy of further play up in his nest or to be discarded unceremoniously to the bottom of the cage!) :)

Today as I was changing my birdy's food and water I made a mental note to take out all the cotton ball pieces with birdy poop on them out of his nest so he wouldn't have to sleep on them.

When I walked back in the room with his fresh water and food I saw that he had taken every soiled cotton ball piece out of his nest and put it on the cage floor! My little boy is learning to clean his own room!
~From a birdy mom proud of her smart little boy!
