Your Pet Did What!?!

Well, I mentioned before that I give my little finch Crest a dish of hay every day to play with which he loves! When I bought the hay for him I spent a long time cutting the pieces into 1 inch lengths so he could handle them. It turns out that he much prefers the long pieces that I didn't cut that are the length of his body! Especially ones that are thick! I guess he's showing his prowess! I like this definition:
1. Superior skill or ability.
2. Superior strength, courage, or daring, especially in battle.
So cute!

Uh-oh! I think this makes me a candidate for the thread Britt mentioned that we should have called, "What we do for our pets!" :roflmao:

Let my boys open their pet gifts from "santa". The kitties got a stocking of kitten toys and bubble catnip that you blow like regular bubbles. The dogs each got a rawhide bone and a bag of small balls that apparently squeak. The minute my oldest son squeaked the ball, Buddy jumped out of her comfy spot and ran over to him. There were four balls and she can't decide which one to play with. My son's cat really likes his bubble catnip. I've been watching the boys and the animals play and I am totally laughing. They crack me up!:hilarious:

What did one or both of my not so wonderful cats do? They peed on a canvas container I had for my Christmas dishes. I had just bought the holder last year, wrapped all the dishes in tissue paper and packed it away under my basement steps. Brought it out tonight and noticed stuff all on it. Sure enough it was pee! All the dishes are being washed in the dishwasher, all the tissue paper thrown out and the canvas container soaking in woolite and oxy(even though it said spot wash).

I am so angry I could scream!

(((Britt))) Well at least you can get the dishes clean hassle that it is. I am sad that happend to you. The last thing you needed.

Thank you Gizmo. I definitely needed those hugs since I was ready to explode. It didn't look like any of the dishes had it on them, the tissue absorbed it before it got to them. Nonetheless, they are being washed in extremely hot water! The kitties are definitely on my naughty list!

I am so angry I could scream!

Looks like somebody(s) are in trouble!:whistling:("Not Me" did it!) Since you didn't explode due to gizmo's kind intervention, here's the lighter side: If you were a kitty, could you resist canvas? :D Sorry, I had to say it!:hilarious:

I really hope your container can be saved!

Both of my dogs are rescue dogs - one was neglected the first few months of his life and my other dog came from a puppy mill. They both sleep in our bed with us now but when we first got them sometimes we'd let them in the bed for a nap. The big dog did it way less, my little dog did it way more but they peed on my bed a bunch of times before they settled in . They either snuck in and did it or did it while I was here. Thankfully I have extra thick mattress pads on all of the beds in our house so it didn't get into the mattress.

I still love them and if anything they have taught me that stuff is just stuff and is replaceable. Thankfully they both grew out of peeing in the house as we established a routine for them, but definitely can relate to the anger of having something ruined by a naughty pet.

My beagle mix sleeps on our couch. He considers it his bed. During the warmer weather he sleeps straight on his back and with his head usually near the crevice of the couch or near its arm rest. He does this, often with his arms straight up in the air and paws bending. During the colder weather he sleeps on his side generally and curled somewhat up with his head resting upon the arm of the couch.

Tonight he slept stretched out on his side with his head placed just as any human would do, on a bed pillow which apparently he'd found there. I call him my toddler and he slept just as precious as a child would do, so I covered him up with a big, fleece comfy blanket and tucked him in. When my H came home and saw this, H was fascinated and happy. Naturally I just couldn't inform him that when it came to the comfy blanket tuck, that I had done this part, making H even more fascinated.

So the camera came out and when pictures were being taken we had to stop short due to the lights interrupting doggy sleep. Our doggie's communication, (lifting paws up to his eyes to cover, rearrange his paws for light prevention and recover his eyes to best suit his needs) was in itself one of the most precious things one could ever see.

My now bad kitty, does this when he is taking a nap in our bedroom, on his favorite chair. If we go in and turn on the light, he'll take his paw and bury his head in it. You are right, that is definitely adorable.

I had a Dane, who was a rescue, that use to go down the basement to poo. (Okay, must be the basement's fault that the animals use it!). Anyhow, once she learned the rules of our house, she stopped doing it and started letting us know when she had to go. We never had to resort to any "harsh" treatment. Just simple persuading. That's when you know they trust you. Obviously your pups know they can now trust you. That's a feeling like no other in life!

Especially when the litter box is near by! Bad bad kitties.

I hope so too. We soaked it in laundry soap with oxy over night. I'm hoping the pee smell is out of it. I just bought it last year and was so happy with my find and thinking my dishes were protected. Ugh.

I don't mind your humor. I had to use some to keep my self from being way angry!

This morning is frosty and white. It has snowed overnight and the critters and I are back in bed snuggling under the covers. I'm listening to an audiobook about the importance of having dogs in our lives (Pack of Two).

Soon I'll make a mug of cocoa and we'll shift to the big armchair in the back room to watch the snow and the birds at the feeders.

I wish everyone a Peaceful day.

How adorable, like he's in a trance! Your story reminded me of this, which I saw on YouTube yesterday! A birdy trance here! :D

I totally agree! How my birdy trusts me gives me immense joy and makes me love him and want to protect him and never hurt him even more! I never expected this in having a pet! Here's a little YouTube video of finch trust that I saw yesterday! SO cute!
How can someone watch this and not love little Zebra Finches! :D

How wonderful!!! I never heard of an audio book about that!!! *Wishing you a peaceful day too!*
