Good for you!!! I hope you meet some friends along the way. I've really increased my social circle of "safe" people through political engagement, and it's helped me let go of emotionally "unsafe" people whose values & judgments were triggering for me.

On election night, there is usually a gathering for the volunteers. I highly encourage attending if you can, because win, lose, or draw, it's fascinating listening to the discussion and being a part of a group that manages manages disappointment or celebration well (as a rule.) There's always some that do less well than others but some people have a long view that is very wise and empowering.

@KwanYingirl and @RussH , I did it! My wife bribed me into a walk to the library and coffee shop. While she was getting the coffee, I walked down the street with my dog. I stood outside the Campaign office for a little bit to get the courage, I walked in dog and all. I will start volunteering this Thursday. My wife will sit at the coffee shop an grab a book so she is close by.

Well the legislature is considering Impeaching my Governor. He threatened a charter school with the loss of funds if they didn't fire the director they had just hired. Not cool, Paul, not cool.
