Anyone Know How Long A Person Can Go With No Sleep?

I wont be driving, Nicolette. I already have it set up for my brother in law to take me.

I have realized that I am flooding right now. I don't know how I wasn't able to figure it out before. i need to see a doc about it, and I will do it right away.

I just ate a few dry cornflakes...I feel very nauseous now, but at least they are in there, for now at least.

Thanks everyone for you concern and good advice. I think realizing what is going on with me was an important step. At least now I can go to the doc and say what is going on, without saying I don't know, but i think i am dying. I don't think that would have gone over well. but now that I realize my mind must be playing a part in this i can mention that as well, and hopefull will get results.

You are addressing the most important aspect, Luthien, good for you. You can have physical ailments and still know peace, but when your mind is awry... it's a different story.

You might want to check your area for a crisis intervention line. CMHA runs a support line 24 hours a day in most cities. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone. Giving your name is optional. I have used their service many, many times. Still do.

Be well,
Dave

Crisis line. One more thing I didn't think of. I'll add that to my list.

Thanks so much everyone for your support, and advice.

yes, please go to a doctor. i think that this is too long without sleep. perhaps this is a message from your body to itself that help is needed right away.

and when you DO start to sleep , which i know you will.

it will feel soooo good!

Luthien;
I've had sleep issues that are just horrible for 15 or more years. At my worst point, I don't think I slept more than 10 hours a week for about 3 years......I too was extremely hypervigilant and couldn't sleep no matter how exhausted I was. It changed my brain chemistry entirely. I actually went psychotic.

They put me on every tranquilizer, sleep med there was in addition to antidepressants, etc. I took double the amounts, and still no relief.

I finally kicked out the lazy boyfriend trigger and got a nights rest............I haven't been able to sleep next to a man comfortably for years. But that is now finally starting to change.

This is very dangerous for you.......... I am convinced that the sleep depravation has permanently damaged my brain..............Please see a Doctor and tell them how imperative it is you get very strong sleeping meds NOW!

I just wanted to update everyone and let them know that since I have been able to eat a little, I have also been getting more rest.
I am feeling much better, but I am still going to discuss the sleep issue with my doctor, as sleep has been an issue for me for at least the last few years.

Thanks everyone for the concern, and advice :)

Will you let us know what the doc says Luthien?

am so glad to hear that you are getting rest...

I'll definitely keep everyone posted. I won't be seeing my doctor unti feb though as the rest of this month is all booked with a vistit to my father, and supporting my cousin through a surgery.
