Cleaning the House?

I like cleaning the house, but if I have other obligations, they come first. If I'm not really in to it - no big deal. I'll eventually get to it.

I clean but I don't like it. I have to work to do it gently and not be angry. I know it has to be done and if I let it go too long. That's the routine part.

That being said I also do it if I feel very depressed or anxious. I feel like I accomplished something no matter what if I do it and this makes me feel better so, it's a thing I use. A tool.

And I love having the house clean no matter what it makes me feel better.

Growing up in a hoarder household has made me want to be neat at all times to feel in control. Too much stuff and I start to feel really anxious.

Or checking into a hotel. I miss checking into hotels! Room service, maid service, swimming pools and concierges. f*ck me, do I miss hotels.

I travel a lot for work and I love staying in hotels too.

So, I moved out of my bedroom- living mainly in one room kept a messy space. To have a clearer headspace, keeping my space looking neater-dishes not piled high, bed made, things organized before or after using, has helped reduce anxiety a ton. While I’m not a lover of clean-up, regular 30 min a day saves me having to clean a full day every couple of weeks and just hate it.
