We had our window into summer… and are now back to 50F/10C… and raining.

This always happens. It’s 10C and raining 10 months a year. But in month 8? We get a few days to a couple weeks to dry out. Before the clouds, and mist, and fog, and rain, and cold steal over the landscape until July.

I used to love the rain.

I try very hard to remind myself of that.

It wasn’t always perpetual misery.

Warm and Sunny at last!!!! We were still having night time lows around 4 C/40 F around the 20th of June and had more than double the usual rain fall.

But today, sunny 29C/81F and beautiful.

Meanwhile, we are having highs around 40 C—yes you read that right. Normal for us though!

Everyone here is talking about the weather cause it is so HOT! What? Hot? I can dress for this, or sit in the AC typing on my phone, not too hot. 104 out in the farmlands of Oregon.

it's not that rare. typical heat waves here are 90's for a week or so, maybe a few 100 degree days every year. We are typically 3-5 degrees hotter than the local cities and I don't really know why. Maybe because the airport is near water and that's where the official temp is read, while my little weather station is 10 feet above a gravel road with no shade and unbroken hot wind for maybe a mile in 320 degrees of wind direction. It is accurate when I compare to the local weather stations on the underground network. 117 is the highest I have ever experienced at my home, 115 official that day. we were baking like bullhead city.

Please please produce some sort of weather that is vaguely representative of summer as opposed to this constant deluge of rain, fog and wind. People have their winter coats on...
