I have been seeing a Naturopath for afew years. I haven't seen him since my PTSD diagonsis. Been trying to balance depression thyroid addiction hormones anxiety. Will it make a difference to tell him or is it another note for my file.

There are many natural medications that can kill you if combined with pharmacology one's, ie. St Johns Wart is a well known, simple naturopathic treatment attempting to cater mild depression, however; if you are using it with SSRI's or SNRI's, you can get Serotonin Syndrome, which will kill you quick.

So yes... you should be talking to physicians about what you have so they can treat you effectively, and ensure they know any and all medications your on.

Thanks Anthony, it can all get to be a bit overwhelming, I'm not doing so great right now.
My GP is pushing anti-depressants, but my Naturopathic Dr is trying to figure out all of the pieces, and yes I told him last nite and he said it helps him to know all of what I am dealing with. This bout of depression may be thryoid related even thou blood results are in the normal range right now. I was getting really hard on myself thinking I am never going to get out of this, but I really hope it is throid....there are meds that can help with that without all the side effects, just trying to get through this until he sorts it all out. My pharmasist explained Serotonin Syndorme to me once and scared the crap out of me, he caught a potential issue and I was very grateful to him for that, I never go anywhere else for my meds now. I am learning quite a bit here, I enjoy being able to capitalize on your research and spend time trying to get well. Not feeling quite so alone in all this. Hangin on and trying to sift through the sh*t.

Yes... sifting through the shit is the hardest part. Even this site has its fair share of it deeper down in older content, but I merely am more interested in keeping the lastest knowledge current. Not that much changes with PTSD... some new changes with the brain aspects, but medication is outside of PTSD obviously, and it is changing annually on a significant scale.

I realize my response comes after the fact, but just wanted you to know that I too told my naturopath about my PTSD. Not only did it guide the treatment, it helped him realize not to put too many changes or expectations on me at once.

Thank you, information is never too late! I appreciate the feedback, it actually did help, I put to many expectations on me. I am trying a combination of meds we have been working on. I have until Friday to get some sleep and start to feel even a bit better or back on the anti-depressants and try sleeping pills again. Fingers crossed.

Over-whelming is putting it nice I think... the sheer amount of information, products, etc available today, is daunting IMHO and even to the point... where do you start and then where do you stop!!!! There actually is a huge negative to having to many options.
