Wow, it feels so good to say that! Next week is going to be a crazy busy week between starting EMDR and getting things situated to start classes in the Fall! Monday I will go with Bristol and talk to my Disability counselor/coordinator about how it will work bringing Bristol on campus with me! When I told her of the possibility last year of me getting a dog, she said they would do whatever they could to help me.

Then Wednesday I meet with my Academic Advisor to register for my classes. I have picked out 3 classes, but am not sure on any others. Realistically I probably only need to take 4, which is the minimum for full time, but part of me wants to take an extra class to regain some time I lost the last 2 semesters. I am going to talk this over with my advisor. A new thing this semester is I will not be forced to work and if I do find a job that allows Bristol, it will only be a few days a week or weekends so I can have a little extra spending money. I would look into a work study program, but my GPA is too low right now from doing poorly before I was diagnosed and began treatment for my PTSD.

I am sticking with my decision to become a Mental Health Counselor with Sociology as my undergrad major and psychology as my minor, focusing on teenagers to young adult age range. I struggled with this due to my PTSD and not wanting to hurt others. However, my T has told me that therapist don't come from perfect little lives. She said I am doing everything I can to take care of myself and that one day, I will be able to help others in a proper, healthy way. I want to help others find their road to healing. Ultimately I want to join with an equine specialist and treat people through equine-assisted psychotherapy and pet therapy. Animals have been SUCH a healing factor for me!

The 3 classes I have decided on are:
1) Abnormal Psychology- it is a repeat online class from having to drop it last semester after suicide attempt. Prior to dropping, I did have an A in the class and found it a very engaging class!

2)The Sociology of Mental Health

3) Contemporary Social Problems

I still have 7-8 extracurricular classes to take, so I am thinking of taking some sort of Art class as well!

Great for you! I went back to school a few years back and it really is a good thing to do. I went with online classes because of my work schedule and for the most part it's been worry free. Had some troubles with some classes because my anxiety would get in the way of working on papers. Then there's one class I totally flunked because the advisers seriously misrepresented what the class would be about. But that's okay, I'm now only 10 hours from graduating. I'm planning on taking the Psychology of Death and Dying in the fall. It's a little grim but I think it'll be very engaging. It's all about the death rituals from all over the world. I've always had an interest in such things, I'm quite looking forward to it. :D

@Go Hungry that sounds like an interesting class! Congrats on being almost finished! What degree are you seeking??

@Ayesha thank you! :) Me too, I am really looking forward to the routine of it again!

I have finished all of my basics except for a Chem lab class! I am classified as a junior!
