Nice work Auburngirl, I just went and had one this week. This was after a good couple years of putting it off. I needed to remind myself that my body is worth it. We all deserve to take care of our bodies, even if other people haven't respected this in the past.

Auburngirl, it sounds like you made some major strides....way to go!!

I, too, am an assault survivor and was diagnosed with an STD after. How did you prepare yourself? What types of things did you ask your dr. to do to help? I've been going for colposcopies to monitor changes but it takes me out of commission for at least three days after.

Well done. I've been due for one for about 5 years, despite only being 25. My doctor keeps saying i should go and i just can't stomach it. The idea of having instruments inside me ever again, is just not going to happen.
