Oh very good Bec. Finally someone who is on your side! I do hope things will turn around now. Your treatment so far has been truly atrocious in my opinion.
Bec...I am so sorry to hear this is happening...that is awful! Hopefully you will get things sorted out and this lady seems to be on your side. Take good care...the both of you.
In Devons class...there are 8 boys, 1 teacher and two EA's. Hopefully the EA will be able to help out more....that is what they are there for!!!!
No they are not. He is still being sent home at noon. We see his therapist tomorrow and I hope that will help straighten this mess out. I really feel as if they are punishing him. It's ridiculous.
Oh dear, that is too bad. Perhaps I should stop asking you? Please don't feel you must answer. I am interested however. I do hope the appointment with the therapist helps. It does rather seem like punishment in a sense, or discrimination, which is a form of punishment really. How is Matt coping with it?
Matt, hehe, he just goes along with it. How many 12 years olds wouldn't? He also hates to rock the boat and will say or do anything to avoid conflict. It's caused me much grief but I know where he's coming from since I do the same thing. I don't mind you asking either. It's just frustrating.
Well I'm glad to know he is not bothered by it. It wouldn't do if he were upset. I suppose he would enjoy coming home early to play video games or watch TV.
Yep We've seen the therapist. She still hadn't called. The school called and they are "allowing" him to go full days and again explained to me that Matt's therapist nor I had any say. I think they are rather ignorant bastards if you ask me. At least he will be going full days come Monday.
Chances of me working closely with the school again on this is slim to none. Nice to know that when you make a plan for school for them, they ignore everything in it!
Matt has his psych follow-up appointment on Monday. I figure that will go rather smoothly.
Other than that, not much new. Matt and I have settled back in nicely. We are starting to get back into a routine again.
Congrats on getting things semi-straightened out. It seems to be the nature of the beast when dealing with schools (or heaven forbid, school boards!) that things get fubar'd at least a few times. Ignorant bastards is a very apt description.
I am also pleased he will be back in school full time and things are somewhat settled for the both of you. It is unfortunate they continue to be difficult, however please don't give up if there is anything else you want or need from them. As Lisa says the system can be fought.
