Ptsd "feelings" Sniglets

Liquifisation: The complete shut down of functioning caused by someone who compounds the violation of your circle of personal space by touching you with a seemingly innocuous gesture such as the hand on the shoulder, pat on the back or, in the extreme, the unwanted hug.

I hate it when they do that! Was having flashbacks during dentist visit & hygenist kept trying to comfort me by rubbing my back. I was very proud of myself because I did NOT rip off her arm at the shoulder and hand it back to her.

ocraphany(o-crap-phany): The sudden realization that it is time to either leave work or pick up the kids and you have no idea where the time went or what you've done all day except that everything you should have accomplished remains undone.

As in: Her ocraphany was immediately followed by frantically checking the clock on her computer and cell phone desperately hoping that her watch had malfunctioned.

God, I had such a ocraphany the other day and really DID check every available clock hoping that all of the previous ones I checked were exactly the same wrong time. >.<

Intimaphobia, also referred to as intimanoia:
Ridiculous fears surrounding intimacy of abandonment, rejection, or otherwise unhappy endings.

Such as,
I had a really great time, too. In fact, you make me feel more positively about myself than anyone else! Unfortunately, my affection for you has resulted in intimanoia. I am now waiting for you to leave me. So I'm going to walk away first. Bye!

Intimanoia, great term, though I'd replace it with Abandanoia, since the suffix -noia/-phobia is usually attached to the thing that is feared.

So, Abandanoia: the unfounded, obsessive idea that someone is about to abandon you (because they reject you, leading to an unhappy ending).

And Intimanoia: the unfounded, obsessive idea that someone might want to get closer to you than you are comfortable with - and that you'll not be able to get rid of them again without causing fights and even more emotional contact.

Supposing these definitions I suffer from severe intimanoia: I went to nursing school, all intimanoid because what if someone wants to be my friend?

So can we say that intimanoia sometimes results in abandanoia when the intimanoia is not strong enough to fully prevent closeness?
Well, it's the lack of intimanoia making a situation possible that triggers abandanoia, i.e. a relationship that you then feel the need to end yourself before your partner has a chance to abandon you. So intimanoia generally protects you from having your abandanoia triggered - unless your intimanoia leads you to behave in a way that really puts people off, which in turn triggers your abandonoia because what if you'll never have even the tiniest bit of closeness ever again because you're so intimanoid that you scare people away altogether?

It's like being a diabetic hooked on doughnuts or something :D

FoN,

You make me happy.

Flighting: v. behavior assumed when wildly cycling through fight and flight in situations of sometimes real though often imagined/perceived danger, resulting in fear-induced aggression--the underbelly of which is really terror and the desire to escape the sense of danger.

As in,
Supporter: I don't even know what we're arguing about!
Sufferer: I don't either I'm just flighting!

Also, Flightingly: adv. an action performed with a pervading or persistent sense of danger.
How is your day going?
Flightingly. Yours?
Abundant in ocraphanies.

I flightingly grocery shopped.

I am feeling flightingly.

Phlegmemrastress: The tightness/pain/constriction/choking/bounding heart rate feelings array of bizarre symptoms felt in one's chest when one has been triggered by an avalanche of memories and/or associate worries. Characterized by intense feelings of constriction of the chest completely unrelated to any diagnosable cardio- &/or pulmonary issue. Often labelled by non-believing medical practitioners as 'Anxiety Attack' when presenting in the E.R. for 'rule out myocardial infarction'...

As in: "Nope, I wasn't dying. Just some Phlegmemrastress."
