@whiteraven thanks for the reply! It gave me a better lead on what to look up! I was feeling so lost and overwhelmed. My T and I didn't really discuss how we were gonna proceed once I realized I had alters... unless I just forgot. She was trying to help me with communication but I haven't been the most cooperative since I don't really get how to communicate with them (nor super motivated to allow parts to talk).
 
I made a journal with lots of pictures. I made collages showing there different rooms. I pasted in crayon drawings that my parts have done. I am lucky that my parts generally get along so they can talk to one another. But before we did that, adult Wendell just learned to be quiet and try to listen to what each wanted & felt & was afraid of.
 
Not thinking about what I am missing, recollections, thoughts, feelings wise.

Focusing on what I need to get through the next day (or a few, or a month, back then years of future were on the radar just well enough, they just mattered differently / were fairly clear goals, so not something to worry about, anxiety in spades).

Since the time having notes of some sort became possible / safe? Journaling in what we were different. So miniature art, first. Different symbols of recognition each relates to. The check of: Still here, nothing happened with me when you do not feel me been comforting as hell.

Amongst Ourselves is a really good resource. I'm assuming you can still get a copy...I was afraid at first, but I discovered that at the beginning, they only wanted to talk about who got to eat pizza and why we didn't have the right kind of juice in the house or watch cartoons. :-) I'm so grateful for the conversations!

@whiteraven thank you for the suggestion :) The book doesn't seem to be in print anymore though. I only buy Kindle books for privacy, so used paper backs won't do.

Unfortunately my parts are at odds with one another. It's not as bad as it once was. There's not as much hate or fear and it's calmer now, but they still disagree a lot or refuse other parts.

Oh yeah. I still have this issue. The difference now is that it doesn't disrupt my life anymore. I'm mostly unaware unless someone inside shares that with me and that is seldom. Used to be really bad, though.
