The good me believes you should not tear down a religion or person to promote your religion or your self. If your religion can't stand on its own with out demeaning someone else beliefs then is it a true religion?

Thus the bad me takes that argument and tells all those radical asshats to come and take the lead poisoning pills to meet their great maker. I hurt, I'm pissed and I'm cold. A good fire fight will warm me up, loosen these tired bones, and put a shitty grin on my face.

I can understand the Platypus. The creator is not wasteful, he use up the extra parts....On the testicles, well he needed them to make the likes of Cher, Kardashians and Snooki. Oh the the ones at Wal-Mart at 0200...

It is going to make me sound like more of an asshole than I normally do, but I, to this day, cannot comprehend religious zeal. Even as a kid I couldn't grasp the concept of faith. The Christians vs. Jews vs. Islamists thing just blows my mind. Always has.

I get those that hold life dear. I get those that dance naked around a fire in a grove of trees. Hell, I even sort of understand those Scientologists to an extant. I admit even though the basis of their sect is a bit comical, I really get the Mormons.

I guess I side more with the philosophies rather than the religions- that is things like buddhism, and hindu, and even hoodoo and santeria more than the "standard" flavors.

it seems, and always has to me, to be just another way to control people just like politics.

Sometimes I kinda wish everyone would just keep their faiths to themselves, pass a joint and eat lots of cookies- maybe go fishing or something...

I'm with you sludge. I Never understood religion. Raised RC. There was a pit in my stomach. I questioned all its validity. When I witnessed the atrocities of war I pretty much made my decision. In a way it bothers me that I don't posess faith but I wonder if it's more to do to the social and spiritual programming of my youth.

I had religious faith at one point in my life. Then I went to war, saw, first hand, what organized religion is all about. I was raised christian up until i joined the army. I'm not hacking on anyones religion here, but when i look back on it, i see the same fanaticism, although to a lesser degree than these Muslim pukes. As a kid we were brainwashed into believing what our mothers and fathers believe, molded to conform to someone else s beliefs. I don't go to church now, and i probably never will again. After experiencing combat, the only faith i had after that was in the brothers to the left and right of me. That being said....Pass me some of those lard-filled hollow points Jr, the Islamist extremists should have every opportunity to die for their beliefs, oh yeah and don't step in the Shiite. ;)

I'm a recovering RC too. Maybe it is just part of our "thing" to be guilty about thinking for ourselves.

I will admit that when the Turks and Filipinos were on board our ship we used to feed them Spam sandwiches all the time. They thought that shit was awesome.
