Vaseline works as hairball treatment as well.. tho I recommend getting from the pet supplier or vet as vaseline has impurities that the medical kind doesnt

Luckily, she has stopped gagging (for now at least). Will call Vet. tomorrow and see what they say.

Cocoa has been gagging and choking really bad for the past day. It's awful. Still no money yet to take her to the vet.

This morning she ate her breakfast and started making that gagging noise again. She puked up all her breakfast along with two big hairballs.

Hopefully, that's what was causing this and now she will be ok.

No gagging since. Keeping fingers crossed.

I hope it's just hairballs. Just want to reiterate that a good vet will help you with a payment plan.

When you get some extra money @Heather, please get some Coconut Oil. and put some in her food, wet or dry. It is tasteless.. Are you feeding wet or dry food? Hope that baby is feeling better... love animals more than humans most days....

I was feeding her dry but Vet. said to switch to wet food. Has less carbs. Trying to have her lose weight. Coconut oil? I will check it out.

It comes in a container like solid cooking oil. The stuff lasts forever. I use it for a lot of things... but it is a good hairball preventative also... hope she is feeling better....

Yes, good news to report. Since she hacked up that disgusting huge hairball.....No hacking or gagging.:)

But now am encountering NEW problem..... She is supposed to be on a diet. 1/2 can of food twice a day. Well, lately at night. She is crying and crying and crying.

Usually she is the quietest cat. NEVER meows. So, when she does I get really concerned.

I guess she is hungry cuz she follows me into the kitchen, under my feet. When we try to eat, she jumps up and is in our faces. Although it's pretty funny, takes her a few tries to jump up cuz she's so tubby (worse that the family dog, begging for scraps:)) I don't have a dog.

So, I've been feeding her an extra 1/2 can of cat food at night. It seems to satisfy her and then she calms down and goes to sleep.

But how is she gonna lose weight? I really should follow up with the vet., see what she says.

Because "fatty" is still a "fatty".

You may be in the clear, but in the mean time I have to pay for past payments on my cat's wellness plan and he is due for an appointment from October, lol! Spreading cheer! :hug:

So she is probably hungry from the food not passing the hairballs.... I wouldn't worry about it for a few days. The fact she is hungry is great !!! She will settle down and you can go back to what the vet says to do.... So happy you posted !!!! Sending hugs to you, your daughter, and the cats !!!!!
