What animals did you see today?

i live on a farm, so i could make lists with the most natural of ease, but the current is, "charlotte," a garden spider who has her web in the porch eaves just over my shoulder. she had a boyfriend with her this morning, but he has since disappeared. mating is a fatal proposition for boy garden spiders, so? ? ? is charlotte pregnant?

i named her charlotte to save her from my 6 year old's arachnophobia. how could she possibly kill a pig-saver? (charlotte's web)

I saw a Butterfly dancing around the leaf

I encountered a baby squirrel running over the bridge on my way into town early this morning. It was ahead of me and I stopped riding my bike because it thought I was chasing it.

Ha! Made my day. #squirrelzview

Yesterday I saw my Roadrunner in my backyard. It's the one I saved when it was a baby, so he likes to come around here quite a bit.

I like orb-weavers, cross-orb-weavers/diadem spiders are my favourite.
If she starts looking especially round soon, then she might be gravid!
Also a chance she didn’t want anything to do with him and killed/attempted to kill him sans mating… if they’re anything like tarantulas.

Two snakes, haven't looked into the species. One med sized, yellow/tan, black tongue. The other so small and a lighter shade of tan? Must have been a baby.

Two magpies. Feeling lucky to see two magpies.

Such a good video! Really informative...I can't believe I didn't know the road runner is real... it is a very cool species... I was a bit disappointed they didn't show a clip of it running like the one in the cartoon with a wide angled shot!! But its call and beak clattering is very cool ... thanks for posting

lots of crows roosting in the trees, and one or two eurasian magpies, too.
