Pizza. It's not sitting well.

I thought for a while it was the hygiene issues at the front, or maybe something in the local recipes, but I'm not sure now.

I just can't eat actual food anymore without feeling ill and needing to visit a toilet rapidly and repeatedly.

Maybe it's the gherkins. I hate them, but they're in everything here. I remember my first encounter with a Macdonalds in the '80s involved both gherkins and digestive catastrophe, so there may be a link.

I'm going to have to live on chocolate for the rest of the war.

I used to keep power bars behind my magazines. Gets too cold? Break a tooth and still not dent the f*cker? Slide one -or whatever the local equiv is- into your collar, into that space your flak grips against your skin and ain’t budging, somewhere between your chest & armpit, for a few hours. In the balkans I pretty much always had 2 powebars per mag pouch, and 1 shoved into my shirt against my skin warming up. Yes. I did avoid eating to not have to replace warm & bendy with f*ckf*ckf*ckf*ck that’s cold!

Now there's an idea. Drone Girl has a stash of energy bars.

Everyone else seems to be getting by on Non-Stop and tobacco. I didn't smoke cigarettes before I came here, now I'm on 20 a day because I can't get my cigars here.

They like their coffee strong here- I spent a while yesterday trying to figure out if the weird feeling in my chest and shaking hands was the coffee or if I'd finally snapped.

The town was getting slammed by drones all day today, though, and I was fine, so I'm blaming the coffee.
