What Did You Eat And Drink Last?

LOL... bad ass. My ninja skills with a cantaloupe today almost lost part of my finger. But with all starch foods, yeah I'm a hard ass about getting off most of the starch.

P.S. I haven't seen a single package of alfalfa or bean sprouts anywhere around here either. (dang it... expect I'll have to start growin' my own?)

Snort. Up here you can't buy "sprouts" anymore as of a few years ago  They're microgreens! At like 10x the cost. (But they're Organic! And vegan suuuuuuuuperfood) FFS. They're sprouts. Cha. Buy some beans & grains & seeds for pennies and throw 'em up on top of your toaster, microwave, washer, whatever to germinate. Bada bing bada boom.

Mung bean sprouts are a favorite of mine. Put 1/4 cup in a wide mouth mason jar and soak overnight, rinse and drain, put cheesecloth over the end and secure with a rubber band and let sit while you watch them grow. Rinse and drain twice a day and by day 3, yummmm. One bag of beans lasts quite a while. They sell them at the farmers' markets for quite the pretty penny.

I really wanted to try the broccoli sprouts, but they were too high maintenance and took longer to grow. I really dig the faster turnaround with the mung beans. I've also done lentil and chia. Hahaha....cha cha cha chia! Thanks for the ear bug. lol

Oh yeah, in addition to salads, I like to steam frozen green peas then add some sprouts and use the stick blender to "mash" them. Add a little vegan buttery spread and some nutritional yeast, too, and man, that's some mighty tasty stuff. Everyone looks at me weird when I offer mashed peas, but oh well, more for me!! lol

My diet has consisted of a lot of bakery items as of late. I am going with it.
For breakfast I had the end of a muffin, part of a carrot cake slice, turkey avocado seaweed wrap things and strawberries.

Then I had part of a chocolate cake parfait thing and a raisin, pumpkin seed, banana, chocolate chip muffin that was huge.
