What Did You Eat And Drink Last?

Baked sweet potato and steamed brussel sprouts......then way too many pieces of pumpkin/choc. chip bread with sunflower seed butter spread on top, and a few extra mini-choc. chips on top of that. Glad I only made mini-loaves and gave some away. lol

I always lose weight faster when I indulge in badass awesome craving smogasborganazpaloozas.
I do have a lovely memory of this happening with me.

I was on the phone to my Dad explaining the rigorous diet I had been on for 10 days and hadn't lost an ounce. But then had been most definitely not dieting for 2 days and had lost 4lbs or summat like that. He asked what I'd eaten on the not dieting days. Pizza I said. And chocolate. He laughed that delicious giggle of his :)

Course I know now that often you can lose or gain weight 2 days after any efforts you've put in but yeah.

I feel slightly torn. Not sure if its cause I'm trying to make excuses or not.

The most successful time of losing weight for me personally was following a book called eat yourself thin. Not the most recent version of this title in the book shops but one from the 80's. Basically it promoted eating as much wholefood as you like. Including healthy fats. And unusually for the time it considered butter to be healthier than margarine.

It also successfully sold exercise to me. So I was eating as much as I wanted, exercising for an hour a day fairly vigorously and losing weight like nobodies business.

So anyway, some thing's I really like about slimming world

- not having to weigh much, and being able to eat as much as you want of certain free foods ~ meat, fish, eggs, pasta, potatoes & fruit & veg. With a definite emphasis on the fruit & veg.
~ the woman who runs the class I've been visiting. Excellent sense of humour, love her.
~ the social element - need every bit I can get lately.
~ the accountability
~ the way it encourages me to plan meals and cook in batches so I always have suitable foods.

Things I dislike
~ the great limitation on fats. Sugar I can do without no problem.
~ the fact I always bloody rebel against anything I try n make myself do particularly re food.
~ the accountability? It shouldn't really bother me so much? I mean surely I can say I had a bad week easily enough? But yeah there is some shame about going back when I've f*cked up like I have this week.
~ the fact I can't so easily follow the diet properly when I'm not doing so well and am not up to pre planning & batch cooking.
~The wind

Anyway, we'll see.
