I made a meal with the food bank food and it was yummy so I’m really proud and want to share. I ate shakashuka with an egg and rye toast with butter.
Shakashuka is garbanzo beans cooked in tomatoes and peppers, onions, and garlic. I did not have onions and garlic, but I had bell peppers and spice mixes and granulated garlic and also fresh herbs growing on my patio. Also the secret ingredients are cinnamon and a little sugar.
At the food bank they always have homemade or unlabeled bakery bread, which feels luxurious. I didn’t realize it was rye when I chose it, but the flavor was so good with the shakashuka. I feel lucky to have myself to cook for me, and I feel loved and provided for by the Universe.
