CPTSD is essentially "PTSD with some extra stuff" - the extra stuff varies from person to person.

I have cptsd for me it is developmental trauma from emotional and verbal parental and sibling abuse rather than having memories of something happening I have emotional flashbacks strong feelings that have been very difficult, but my flashbacks are getting better less often, less intense and less in duration Peter Walker specializes in complex trauma and has an excellent web site with lots of information. Longitivty is the difference. Several traumas and/or trauma over a long period of time.

It's not in the DSM and I don't believe in the ICD yet (but if so someone will correct me).

Every time I check the pub date of the ICD-11 they've moved it. Was supposed to be this month, for awhile. But the WHO website now reads 2018.

Wonder why they keep moving it. Its the entire revision so I imagine likely much disagreement?

It means you have to go into some uncomfortable detail to explain why your ptsd is special. So i leave it at ptsd and only talk about one trauma. A fun one, something less horrible...

It has zero to do with PTSD being "special" and it is now in the ICD 11. Or it may still be proposed but is being added to the ICD 11 and the forum is being changed because of it.

The crap I deal with now is outside the PTSD diagnosis and into the realm of emotional abuse which doesn't rise to the level of causing PTSD.
