I have periods where i tend to snap , and the suicidal thoughts come into play , however i hold 2 things in my head , i have children that rely on me and love me and i could not bear to leave them in this way nor with such a horrid memory. My best friend when i was growing up, was a victim of parental suicide, he never recovered(35yrs later) and is currently homeless and destitute. I sometimes beg for an easy way out but the collateral damage stops me, i will not let ths thing get the better of me,,,,its taken enough

Not stupid, just PTSD. Learning to manage PTSD is an experience project. You can't learn unless you endure things first, which you're doing, thus you're learning. At the time something happens, PTSD can make rational very irrational... that is the nature of it. It takes a lot of self fight, constantly looking inwards, to quickly stop such things and change them back to rational.

This is just experience @Notsowild and you will get plenty more yet.
